Resource Lookups

Resource Lookups

Members, do you need something checked in the collections but can’t come in? You can access two different Look-up Services for resources held in the Research Centre that are not available online.

Look for information from a single source held by the Society, such as a particular book, digital resource, journal, or database.

This service is for short queries only. Research time is limited to twenty minutes.

Submit one request at a time. We aim to respond within two weeks. You may submit another when the current one is answered.

All requests will be answered in order of receipt. We’ll let you know if extended research is required to answer your query.

You can explore the Society holdings under Catalogue or under Resources > Resource Centre.

Examples are:

  • An image or pages from a publication
  • A name appearing in one of the QFHS online indexes
  • Schools a person may have attended
  • Electoral roll entries for a name
