Library

Our Society is proud to offer a substantial collection of family history resources, which has developed over its long history. The collection is continually growing as we purchase new resources and receive generous donations.
New additions are listed in the Queensland Family Historian every quarter.
QFHS uses a Library Classification Scheme modelled on that designed for the Society of Australian Genealogists in Sydney, NSW.Â

The Family History Research Centre has a Reference Library section and a Lending Library section. The books in the Reference Library are not available for loan. The Lending Library has a small range of books available for loan.
Our Family History Research Centre collection includes:
- books and journals
- microfiche and microfilms
- maps
- digital resources
- subscription websites
As a member, you may access our extensive digital resource collection from any of the networked computers. You can use our digital library finding aids, such as the library catalogue, cemetery index, George Bond index, and pedigree index.
Lending Library
QFHS has a small lending library. Some are duplicated in the reference library and some are only in the lending library.
Books in the lending library have come from member donations.
Lending library books have a call number prefixed with LL.
