1916 Commonwealth Electoral Roll (Tasmania)

A unique source of public information on Tasmanians at the time, covering name, title, sex, place of living, occupation, roll number, subdivision and division. Enrolment was compulsory in 1916, so men and women from all walks of life are included.

This CD continues the high quality productions from QFHS indexers, adding to the QFHS CERQ series (1903, 1906, 1913, 1922, 1934, 1941, 1949 and 1959 rolls) which have proved invaluable to family and other historical researchers.

CD features

  • Coverage of all 135,452 electors in the 1916 rolls at the National Archives of Australia, including supplemental rolls (19,340 electors) and removed names (9,326 electors)
  • Searching on name and other details with QFHSdatasearch - especially useful for finding family groups, e.g. by specifying a surname and sorting on place of living within subdivision
  • Links from search results to maps of division boundaries
  • System Requirements: PC with Windows operating system (Win95 or later), CD drive and 20 Mb of free disk space to install QFHSdatasearch. Adobe Reader is needed to view the maps.
